A self-employed logger, a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Felton Lerris and Melba Nadine Taylor Rhea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ben and Gertrude Rhea; and maternal grandparents, Lester and Maude Taylor. He was married on December 17, 1971 to Nancy Boyd Rhea of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Marty Lynn and Shirley Rhea of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Megan Alenzia and Anthony Wright of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Benjamin Lynn Rhea, Weston Franklyn Wright, Eric Wright, Brandon Wright, and Dewayne Wright; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Edwin Barrett of McMinnville; brother, Jeffery Rhea of McMinnville; brothers-in-law, Donald Boyd and wife Linda of McMinnville and Douglas Boyd of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Bobbie Boyd of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Northcutt Cove Cemetery with Ray Winton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at High’s.
