Mr. Timothy Leo VanderKooi, age 62 of Spring Lake, entered his heavenly home on the morning of Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born on March 3, 1957 to Leo and Carolyn (Barnhard) VanderKooi in Grand Haven, MI. Tim graduated from Mona Shores High School in 1976. He was employed by TGW Systems Ermanco for 25 years. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed volunteering at the VFW Post 3195. Tim will be lovingly remembered by his step-sons, Josh, Matt, and Damien Therrian; step-daughter, Angela (Patrick) Walters; significant other, Irish Hill Blevins, and her daughters, Melissa (Missy), Lindsey, and Jessica; parents, Leo and Carolyn VanderKooi; siblings, Joyce (Ron) Corradin, David (Joan) VanderKooi, Janice (Bruce) Barbour, and Don (Mandy) VanderKooi; sister-in-law, Rhonda VanderKooi; nieces and nephews: Laura, Theresa, Amy, Daniel, Lisa, Matthew, Kristy, Carolyn; many great nieces and nephews; and good friend, Ron Brosseit. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Preston James VanderKooi. The Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Veterans of Foreign War Post #3195 (5209 Grand Haven Rd., Norton Shores, MI). Visitation will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Klaassen Family Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
