A Public Visitation for Sherry Palmquist of Warroad will be held on Tuesday, May 28, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a devotional service at 7:00 pm at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Warroad. She passed away on Thursday, May 23 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks at the age of 66. Sherry Palmquist was born on July 20, 1952 to Gordon and Elda (Bruce) Palmquist in Warroad, MN. She lived at home until age 13 and then lived in various group homes, moving from REM in Roseau after the flood in 2002 to Elkwood Group Home in Warroad in 2003. She enjoyed rocking, listening to music, visiting, blueberry picking, boat and four-wheeler rides, shopping, car rides, receiving and dishing out teasing. Sherry’s handicaps never stood in her way of giving and receiving deep affection. She was always the life of a party and was unique in so many ways and had Jesus in her heart. She is survived by her siblings; Jack (Bonnie) Palmquist, Mike (Linda) Palmquist, and Cathy Palmquist all of Warroad, MN; and the staff of Elkwood Home in Warroad who always surrounded her with love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Elda Palmquist.
