Sam’s Obituary Sam A. Edwards, 88, of Harrodsburg, husband of Margaret Johnson Edwards died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Baptist Health in Lexington. Born July 16, 1930 in Burgin, KY he was the son of the late Beatty and Maggie Hager Edwards Isham. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in combat during the Korean War, he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and a farmer. Survivors in addition to his wife are, two nephews: Scott Edwards of Long Beach, CA and Dan Edwards of Eagan, MN, two nieces: Gail Gabhart of Pleasure Ville, KY and Liesa Sumner of Georgetown, KY. He was preceded in death by two brothers: H.B. Edwards, Jr. and George C. Edwards. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Derek Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Reiss Baxter, Greg Winburn, Curt Ransdell, Jared Baker, Wayne Payton and Garnett Payton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Baker, Arthur Boyd Isham, Roger Payton, David Long, Fred VanArsdall and David Roach. Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
