Ruthanna Heilman Deiter Casdorph was born March 14, 1926 in Lebanon, PA. She met James F. Casdorph at Indian Town Gap during WWII and they married June 22, 1946. They loved and lived life with their children on Edens Fork Road, Charleston, WV. Ruthanna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She passed away on May 18, 2019, and was preceded in death by her husband, James, parents Ruth and Edgar Deiter, and sister Nancy. She is survived by her sister Barbara Houston, children Deborah Casdorph, Beverly Neal (Tom), James Casdorph (Lisa), Nancy Baldwin (Gary), and Etta Smithson (Roger). Ruthanna has twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Mom will be remembered as a caring and loving mother who was always there for her children. She had a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. She dedicated most of her life to ensuring her family’s needs were met which often involved sacrificing her own needs. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to SweetBriar Assisted Living and Hospice for the excellent care they gave Mom. Per Mom’s wishes there will be no visitation. The immediate family will have a private service at a later date. Donations in Ruthanna’s memory may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
