Private services for Ruby Handle, 89, of Lilburn, GA, formerly of Oxford, will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Forestlawn Mausoleum Chapel in Golden Springs. Ruby passed away on May 2, 2019 at her home in Lilburn, Georgia. Ruby was of the Southern Baptist faith and was a graduate of Oxford High School. She went on to retire after 16 years of service as a secretary with the North Broward (FL) Hospital District. Anyone that ever encountered “Miss Ruby” knew immediately they had met a special person. Her smiling, compassionate manner always captured your heart right away. As many of her caretakers in her last few years have said, they couldn’t help but connect with her in a special way. She always took the time to connect with each person she met. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Oscar A. Handle, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Danford and her spouse, Bobby, and Marion Smith; a daughter, Karla Leigh Kreitner-Grindle and her spouse, Donna, of Stone Mountain, GA; a son, Alan Scott Handle and his spouse, Michelle, of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Melissa Davis and her spouse Eltouie, Samantha Rauth and her spouse Nick, and Austin Handle; and a great grandchild, Eltouie Davis, Jr. Ruby was Mom and Grandma to countless others whom she loved and cared for as family. The family extends a special thank you to the many nurses, doctors, and caregivers who were so important to us all in the last few years.
