Tell City, Indiana Ronald L. “Ron” Werne, 71 passed away May 26, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on December 8, 1947 to Linus and Mildred (Lambeck) Werne. A graduate of Forest Park High School, Ron was united in marriage on February 15, 1969 to Janice Hudson. He retired in 2013 from Domtar after 44 years. Ron was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and he enjoyed to hunt and fish, camping, bowling, playing softball, spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Jake, Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Janice Werne, Tell City; his children, Bobbie Myler (Craig), West Fork, IN and Shawn Werne (Melody), Evansville; his mother, Mildred Werne, Tell City; a brother, Donnie Werne (Elaine), Dale; sisters, Nancy Fowler (Jim), Nampa, Idaho and Betty Kirchoff (John), New Boston; six grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan and Hannah Myler, Zach and Megan Werne and Makenzie May. He is preceded in death by his father, Linus Werne. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel from 3:00-7:00 PM. A private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Animal Shelter.
