Robert Essert, of Antigo, died at his home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice on May 24, 2019. He was 52 years old. He was born December 26, 1966 in Antigo, son of Gale (Knight) Campbell and the late Wally Campbell. Rob attended Antigo High School. He was employed at Wisconsin Veneer and Plywood and Volm Bag. He also worked as a masonry laborer in Southeastern Wisconsin. He was a biker, and member of ABATE Motorcycle Club. He was handy, and enjoyed fixing and puttering with equipment and vehicles. Survivors include his mother, Gale Campbell of Antigo; a daughter, Amanda (Travis) Chrudimsky of Antigo; his fiancée, Laurie Verhasselt of Antigo; 2 sisters, Laura (Todd) Rochester of Whitewater, and Vicki Vallejo of Milwaukee; 5 brothers, Patrick (Amanda) Campbell of Florida, Buddy (Kathy) Campbell of Antigo, Matthew Campbell of Cudahy, Michael (Jenny) Campbell of Cudahy, and David Campbell of Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rob was the oldest grandchild of the late Robert and Mary Knight, and he was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Emily Essert, and Star Elizabeth; and a brother, Greg Campbell. A celebration of life with potluck meal will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Beer:30 in Antigo. Memorial donations to cover expenses may be directed to Rob’s mother, Gale Campbell.
