Ruby, SC Mr. Robert Dewey Morris, age 71, entered into rest on Thursday, May 23, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, May 26, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Gerald Rivers and David Brigman. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Morris was born April 25, 1948 in McFarlan, NC a son of the late Hawk Dewey and Doris Jones Morris. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Morris was a retired employee of Bloomsburg Mills with over 30 years of service. A member of Fairview Baptist Church, Robert enjoyed attending Douglas Mill Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, working with tractors, playing his guitar and singing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Crowley. Survivors include his wife, Betty H. Morris; children, Denise M. (Tim) Davis, and Cheryl A. Morris both of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Brittany Davis, Amber Davis, Lillian Creech, Alyssa Creech; brother, James “Tot” (Pat) Morris of Cheraw, SC; 2 sisters, Brenda Crowley of Florence, SC, and Margaret (Terry) Sellers of Chesterfield, SC.
