Richard Rohland, 88, of Owens Cross Roads, AL passed away on May 22, 2019 in Huntsville. Richard was born in Bethlehem, PA to Ray and Alberta Rohland in July 1930. He graduated from Penn State University. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the US Army as a Major. He was an avid gardener and received several awards for his gardening achievements and “green thumb.” He was also an animal lover and throughout his lifetime a proud “papa” to his four-legged children, his beloved dogs Lady, Golden, and Hershey. Dick was preceded in death by his mother Alberta and his father Ray. He is survived by his brother’s Robert Rohland (Grace), Thomas Rohland (Ruth, deceased), and a host of nieces and nephews. The family of Richard wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mrs. Allison Sackett and her family, Brad and Amy Scott, and his other friends and neighbors for their care and support of our beloved uncle and brother. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00pm.
