Mr. Richard Jones Hayes, Jr., age 66, of Hudson passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019. Born December 21, 1952 in Caldwell county, Richard was a son of the late Richard Jones Hayes and Marie Watson Hayes Braswell. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army. Richard was a truck driver and enjoyed older model cars. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hayes. Richard was survived by two sisters, Kimberly Greene (husband Russell) of Taylorsville, Pamela Anderson (husband Andrew) of Elizabethton, TN; a brother, Chad Braswell of Hudson; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Bradley Daniels officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
