Richard Anthony Zachman, 66, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. One of eight children of Neil J. Zachman, Sr. and Margaret Catherine Dooher Zachman, Richard was born in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin on December 30, 1952. Richard graduated from Hayworth High School in Kokomo, Indiana with the class of 1970, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Game Management from Purdue University in 1974. On September 8, 1978, Richard married the former Angela Kay Leedke in Lafayette, Indiana. Mrs. Zachman survives. For 16 years, Richard was employed as a supervisor for General Foods in Lafayette. He owned and operated two Pro Golf stores in Fort Wayne for over ten years and before his retirement, was a financial advisor for Smith-Barney in Fort Wayne. Richard was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Fort Wayne and in his leisure time enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, and spending time with his family. Besides his wife of over 40 years, Angela Zachman, Richard is survived by four children, Kelly (Steve) Wildfeuer of Liberty Township, Ohio, Adam (Karla) Zachman of Hebron, Kentucky, Matthew Zachman and Kristin Zachman, both of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Chase, Riley, and Jack Wildfeuer, Owen, Sydney, and Sierra Zachman; seven siblings, Neil (Sheryl) Zachman, Jr. of Kokomo, Tom Zachman of Fort Wayne, Mary Ann (James) Healy of Wisconsin, Margie (Brad) Christopher of Kokomo, John (Debbie) Zachman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joe (Debbie) Zachman of Lafayette, Bob (Gina) Zachman of Fort Collins, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Jane Zachman; and a niece, Jennifer Zachman. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.
