Obituary of Philip A. Vallone VALLONE, PHILIP A. Philip A. Vallone, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 9, 2019. Philip was born July 7, 1926 in Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Rocco and the late Margaret (Vendetti) Vallone. He married the love of his life the late Gloria A. Vallone on September 25, 1954 in Cliffside Park, NJ. They were married for 61 years. Philip and Gloria moved to West Nyack in 1956 where they raised their three children. Philip is survived by children Elinor (Todd) Romer, Rock Vallone, and Catherine (James) McCarthy. Grandchildren Thomas and Catherine Goeller, Charles (Erin), Philip and Erin McCarthy, and Greatgrandchild, James McCarthy, his brother Michael (Rosemary) Vallone and sister in law Margaret Puccio. He was Godfather to the late Michael Vallone, and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Philip served his country during WW II as a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps.He was a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation for 38 years. Philip was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Nanuet and was a baseball coach for decades in the West Nyack Little League. He was an active ball player and an avid Yankee fan. In retirement he made wooden rocking horses, American Doll furniture, and craft items for over 20 years. He was an avid reader, loved trips to the casino, and traveling. A Mass of Chrisian burial will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, May 13 at St. Anthony’s Church, 36 West Nyack Rd., Nanuet, NY. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet immediately following. Calling hours will be Saturday, May 11 from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday, May 12 from 3 to 7 pm at Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc., 728 West Nyack Rd., West Nyack, NY.
