Pauline M. (Tourjee) Slowik, 88, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 26, 2019. She was the loving wife of 66 years to Walter L. Slowik. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Mary (Souza) Telford and Royal Tourjee, she grew up in Dartmouth and lived in Fairhaven most of her life where she was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Pauline and Walter were the owner/operators of the Driftwood Grill and Walt’s Fisherman Supply in Fairhaven. She enjoyed knitting, playing tennis, and loved to cook for people and entertaining. They enjoyed their winters in Boynton Beach, Florida and camping trips to Maine and New Hampshire but she especially enjoyed her trips to the casinos. She is survived by her husband; her loving children, Brian Slowik of Fairhaven, Melinda St. Jean of Westport and Melissa Southrey and her husband Brian of Galloway, NJ; two grandchildren, Brian and Amber Southrey of NJ; four great grandchildren, Shawn and Justin St.Jean and Ava and Brian Southrey; a great, great grandchild, Jamie St.Jean; a sister, Alaina McDowell of FL; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Slowik was the mother of the late Barry Slowik, grandmother of the late Jamie and Jody St.Jean and sister of the late Arlene Cardoza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated, Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 10:00AM, in St. Joseph’s Church, in Fairhaven, followed by interment in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
