DeForest- Patsy Mae Wearne was born in Portage, WI on December 24, 1945, to Walter and Alice Stibb. She lost her final battle with cancer as well as heart failure on May 13, 2019, at 3:37 am at the age of 73. She spent her final month at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, where she was surrounded by loving family and friends as well as the wonderful staff and volunteers there. We all truly feel that even in the hardest of times she still found joy and happiness in the few precious moments that she could spend with us. Patsy spent the past decade living in Deforest, WI where she was looked up to as a good friend to those who lived in her building. Often, we would call and be rushed off the phone because she would be on her way to a social gathering, whether it was BINGO, puzzles, cards or even bowling on the Wii. If she wasn’t playing the game she was calling the BINGO numbers. Mom was not only kind to the people around her but also to animals. Although she loved all animals, dogs have always had a special place in her heart. She has had a dog or multiple dogs as far back as we can remember. That love and compassion was passed down to us and we continue to love those around us, both 2 and 4 legged. Mom was the one who listened to all our problems and loved us regardless of our mistakes, always providing us with advice that we will cherish forever. Patsy is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter: Ricky (Cindy) Wearne, David (Jennifer) Wearne and Heather (James) Proft; as well as her 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Shawna (Michael) Carmody, Tylor and Amanda Wearne, Nathan, Brady and Austin Proft and Jaydon and Gavin Carmody. She is also survived by 5 siblings: Bernice (Norman) Stump, Margie Heinz, Victor (Lois) Stibb, Sandy Hurst, and Bonnie Stibb. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Alice Stibb as well as her brother-in-law Jerrold Hurst. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 25, 2019 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd, Deforest, with Pastor Karrie Landsverk officiating . Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Agrace Hospice Care, 5395 E Cheryl Pkwy, Madison, WI 53711. A special thanks to the very special Doctors, Nurse Care Managers, Nurses and Volunteers at Agrace Hospice. We are in awe of what you do for those around you and feel truly blessed to have such selfless, loving and professional people to have cared for our mom in the most difficult part of her life.
