Patricia Ann Griffith age 58, of Red Ash, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Pikeville, Kentucky following a length illness. She was born June 23, 1960 in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of Peggy Ann Proffitt Mercer of Raven, Virginia and the late Charles J. Lester, Jr. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Spending time with her family brought her great joy. She attended the Premier Full Gospel in Red Ash, Virginia. She was a lifetime resident of the area. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Hershal “Turk” Hurt; second husband, Freddie Allen Lowe; brothers, David Lester and Jerry Hurt. Those who survive to carry on her spirit are: Her loving husband of 24 years, Alvin Ray Griffith of Red Ash, VA Children: Priscilla Ann Vance of Smith Ridge, VA Timothy Joshua Vance of Pounding Mill, VA William Harley Vance III, of Red Ash, VA Father-in-law, Lawrence Griffith Sisters: Frances Rose and husband, Lee; Lisa Cordle and husband, Tom; Mary Hutchinson and husband, Chuck. Brothers: David Allen Lester and wife, Janet; Damon Lester; James “Turkey” Lester; Joe Hurt and wife, Crystal; Ronnie Hurt and Fiancé Tina; James Hurt and wife, Yonna; Hassel Lester; Mark Lester and wife, Melissa; Ronnie Lester and wife, Linda; Michael Lester. Seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and too many nieces and nephews to count. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her funeral to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home. The funeral for Patricia Ann Griffith will be conducted at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Wayne Proffitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Griffith Cemetery in Road Ridge, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Zachary Vance, Ezekeal Vance, Justin Vance, Michael Vance, Dillon Sixma, Dustin Lowe. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening beginning at 6:00pm.
