Norman William Jackson, age 77, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Carlos William and Elsie Dye Jackson. He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1959 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Jackson was well known as a barber where he worked at the Richlands Barber Shop for several years. He attended the Hillcreek Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deanna Helen Lockhart Jackson Those that remain to carry on his spirit are his: Daughter: Jessica Compton and husband Ricky of North Tazewell, Virginia Four Sons: Norman Christopher W. Jackson and wife, Sherie of Abingdon, Virginia Patrick Jackson and wife, Ollena of Raven, Virginia Brandon M. Jackson and wife, Jo of Abingdon, Virginia Jordan Aaron Jackson and fiancé Molly Ashby of Richmond, Virginia Brothers: Roy Lee Jackson of Baptist Valley, VA Curtis Stilwell of Speedwell, VA Five Grandchildren: Haley Nichole Jackson, Hayden Christopher Jackson, Cameron William Jackson, Alexa Compton, Ricky Edward Compton. Special Caregivers, Shelia White and Juanita Wimmer Funeral services for Norman William Jackson will be conducted Friday, May 17, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cody Harman officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ray Joyce, Jim Lockhart and Grandsons.
