Matthew’s Obituary It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew W. LaFontaine announces his passing after a long illness. Matthew went to be with the Lord in his sleep on Sunday evening May 19th 2019, at the age of 42 years. Matt will also be fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Frank Mears, Renee Mears, Arthur Mears, and Karen Mears, a great aunt and uncle Bob and Ginger Savage, along with several cousins and second cousins. Matt was predeceased by a grandfather Arthur Mears and an aunt and uncle, Thomas and Faye Philbin. Matthew was a 1994 graduate of Abington Heights High School in Clarks Summit Pennsylvania. Most of his classmates knew him as “Foot” due to his shoe size being 19. Matt worked as a landscaper. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, and video games. He loved sports and was a huge 49ers fan. Matt loved animals and especially his sister’s English Bulldogs. At this time there will be no service. The family will have a celebration of his life at a later date.
