Mary Nell Chambers of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Monday, May 27, 2019. She was 79. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. John Boss officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. At all other times, the family will be gathered at Mrs. Chambers’ home. Mrs. Chambers was born in Geneva, AL on April 9, 1940, to the late Ollie B. Paul and Kate Howell Paul. She was a longtime member of the Samson First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Chambers; son, John Terry Chambers; and a sister, Hilda Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Tina Hughes of Samson; two grandsons, Brent Watson (Rikki Leigh) of Headland, AL and Garrett Watson (Krista); great-grandson, Caleb Watson, all of Athens, AL; brother, William Glenn Paul (Paulette) of Dothan; sister, Lounvenia Malloy of Middleburg, FL; and her very special friend, Euna Faye Wise of Samson. favorite_border Donations Pledges
