Mrs. Mary Lou Mull Dudley Mewborn, 97, of West Howell Street, Hartwell, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Hart Care Center. Born on January 4, 1922 in Clemson SC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Milton Mull and Annie Pearl Carey Mull. Mrs. Mewborn was retired from the Hartwell Mfg. Company, where she was a secretary and also from the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, where she the Church secretary. Being born in Clemson, Mary Lou was an avid supporter of Clemson University. She was an emeritus member of the Nancy Hart Order of the Easter Star #398, former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and Madora Garden Club. Mrs. Mewborn was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, Live Wire SS Class, UMW and Sojourners. Survivors include a step son: Richard Mewborn (Beth) of Hartwell; a step daughter: Rhonda Grizzle of Lithia Springs GA; three grandchildren: Debbie Roberts, Chad Dudley and Cari Gould; five step grandchildren: Tyler Grizzle (Ashley), Eli Grizzle (Nikki), Carla Mewborn, Andrew Mewborn (Ashley) and Taylor Mewborn also survive. Mrs. Mewborn was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Grover C. Dudley and Charles D. Mewborn; a son: Carey Dudley and a brother: Eugene Mull. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. Allen Stewart and Rev. Dean Kring officiating. A visitation and reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Entombment will be in the Old Stone Church Cemetery, Clemson SC. The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.
