Marvel J Ashburn December 29 1929 May 21 2019

Marvel June Ashburn, age 89, passed away May 21, 2019. She was born December 29, 1929 in Muskegon, MI to the late Albert and Bertha Lynn. Beloved wife of the late Theodore (d. 2008); loving mother of Gary (Mary Beth), Lynn Demeter, Donald, David (Pam), Gerald (Angela), Nancy (Tom Williams), Carol Woodrich, Donna (Jamie) Shurter, Timothy (Angela Snow), Thomas (Dawn), the late Ronald (Mary, still living), the late Kenneth, and the late Sandra Schuman; proud grandmother of 26 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was most proud of her 13 children, including 3 sets of twins, and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marvel loved to share stories of her life’s experiences, and had such a unique sense of humor, that she would often command the room at family gatherings. She loved to cook and bake, especially her peanut butter cookies that everybody loved so much. Incredibly, she always seemed to remember the many birthdays and anniversaries for all of her family, and would send a card in remembrance of each occasion. She was an amazing woman, a caring and loving mother and grandmother, who lived up to her name. She truly was a marvel. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 pm and Service Wednesday 10:30 am at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
