Maria Ann Crazy Bull was born April 26, 1945 to Gilbert Crazy Bull and Cora Bad Horse. She attended school at St. Joseph’s Indian School and college at Black Hills State College, and Lower Brule Community College. Maria had lived in Lower Brule, South Dakota and also the North Pole, Alaska. Maria worked numerous jobs from housewife to secretary at the Lower Brule Community College. At Maria’s time of death she was married to Robert A. ton. Maria passed away on April 3, 2019 at home in Lower Brule, SD at the age of 73 years. She has twelve children David George Flute, Patricia Jane Saylor, Amelia Helen Felicia, Teresa Marie Felicia, Roland Kenneth Felicia, Rolanda Kim Felicia, Kenna Marie Felicia, Wilmer Elmer Patterson, George Felix Patterson, Celia Ann Patterson, Wilhelmena Joy Patterson, and Corwin Boyd Patterson; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria also has four brothers Leroy (Maka) Short Bear, Alva (Spud) Crazy Bull, Albert (Boots) Crazy Bull, Vernie (Odell) Crazy Bull and five sisters Maggie Short Bear Swanson, Bernetta Short Bear-Traversie, Wanda (Mickey) Short Bear-Estes, Ramona (Monie) Short Bear- Taylor.
