Margaret’s Obituary Margaret Ann Shaw, 70, of Ashland passed away Tue. May 14th after a period of declining health. She was the wife of Robert Douglas Shaw for 40 years. Born in Norwood, Margaret was the daughter of the late James and Eleanor (Clark) Farrell. She worked as a secretary for many years starting at Data General Co., Prime Computer, Gamewell in Ashland, and finally MatTek Corp. in Ashland. In addition, she worked for the 4H Center in Ashland in their catering operations. Margaret was the caretaker of the family and always put others before herself especially her grandchildren. She could light up a room and enjoyed making the people around her happy. Her favorite saying was, “never lose your sense of humor; If you do, you’ve got nothing – remember that!” In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Victoria (Sherman) Gay and her husband Frederick of Whitinsville, Ralph A Sherman Jr of Pawtucket, RI, and Daniel E Sherman and his wife Katherine of Richmond, VA; 8 grandchildren; Scott Miles Jr, Samantha Snead, Myah Gay, James Sherman, Jeffrey Sherman, Joshua Sherman, West Sherman, and Cary Sherman, four great-grandchildren; Jace, Dean, Bruce, and Andrew Sherman; sisters; Judith Farrell, Roberta Poirier, Therese Baccaire, Eleanor Farrell; mother in law, Agnes L. Shaw, sister in laws, Denise Sessa and Pamela Shaw, close nephew, Jon Sessa, several additional nieces and nephews, and her beloved cats, Amber and Bella. She was the sister of the late James Farrell, Joseph Farrell, Christine Dupre, Joanne Bruno, Mary Dupre, and Celine Violette. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday June 30th at 1:00 PM in the Knights of Columbus, 77 Prescott Rd. Whitinsville, MA 01588.
