Madeline Cleo Gere October 14 1930 May 28 2019 (age 88)

Madeline Gere, 88, passed with peace and grace on May 28, 2019 with her family at her side. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Grissinger and husband, Glenn, of Shelby, NC, two sons, James B. Gere of Venice, FL and John Richard Gere and wife, Terri, of Cookeville, TN, five grandchildren, John Richard LaGere Jr. and wife, Terra, Sarah Grissinger, David Gere and wife Andrea, Aaron LaGere, Ashley Eddings and one great grandchild, John Richard LaGere III as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Detroit Michigan on October 14,1930. Mrs. Gere was the daughter of the late Richard and Bertha Parrish. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Theodore Allen Gere, and a brother Thomas Parrish. Madeline lived in Gaylord, Michigan the majority of her life while raising her family. She and her husband Ted owned their own business and retired to Venice , FL in 1977. After her husband Ted passed, she moved near her family to Forest City, NC. In addition to her many hobbies she became a talented seamstress and quilter. She will always be remembered as a loving woman whose greatest passions were caring for her family, her friends, her pets, and her Barbie dolls. Perhaps her greatest gift was in bringing people together. She leaves us with rich memories which will be cherished always.
