(Jones) Penson, 72, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:36 A.M., Monday, May 6, 2019 at her residence. Lydia had been a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born October 16, 1946 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Carl and Dora (Urbain) Jones. She married James Penson on January 2, 1967 at Du Quoin, IL and he survives. She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, three children – Rachel Penson, Jimmy Penson and Dorcas Penson, all of Du Quoin, two brothers – Carl Jones of Du Quoin and Clarence Jones and wife Ruth of Flora, six sisters – Mary Rogers of Missouri, Marsha McKinnies of Du Quoin, Debbie Harris and husband Wayne of Du Quoin, Janice Siefert of Du Quoin, June Caraway and husband Don of Murphysboro, and Lisa Dewar of Du Quoin, four grandchildren – Trenton Brown, Kelvin Penson, Troy Brown, and Alexis Penson, all of Du Quoin, one great granddaughter – Kalena Penson of Du Quoin, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Merle Macke and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating. Friends may call from 1 P.M. until the time of service on Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin. Friends may make memorials to the Diabetes Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
