Condolences are being expressed to the family of Mrs. Lutisha Alston Springs, age 76, who passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Duke Regional Hospital. On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Lutisha Alston Springs peacefully and quietly departed this life. Lutisha was born on December 22, 1942, to the late Odies and Elizabeth Alston. At an early age, Lutisha attended Holland Chapel AME Zion Church in Apex, North Carolina. In 1961, she graduated from Horton High School in Pittsboro, North Carolina, and married the love of her life, the late Paul Springs, Jr., in 1968. They spent a beautiful, loving 47 years together. To this union, was born two sons Anthony and Timothy Springs. Lutisha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Anthony Lee Springs (Mary) of Durham, North Carolina and Timothy Lamont Springs (Myra) of Sanford, North Carolina; three brothers, James Alston (Shirley) of Durham, North Carolina, Thomas Alston (Odessa) of Sanford, North Carolina and Harvey Alston (Janie) of Maryland; three sisters, Regina Cotton (Calvin) of Apex, North Carolina, Mary Cole of Durham, North Carolina and Eliza Harris of Apex, North Carolina; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and special friends. She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Timothy and Anthony Springs, as well as by other family members and friends. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Scarborough & Hargett Celebration of Life Center, Inc., 309 N Queen Street, Durham, North Carolina, 27701, at 1:00 p.m., with a family visitation one hour prior to the service.
