Lois Sharlene Seymour, 89, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side. Lois was born on December 2, 1929 in La Porte, IN, to Arthur Carl and Kittie (Proud) Rameier. On May 30, 1948 in La Porte, IN, she married James Wilbur Seymour who preceded her in death on June 18, 2017. Surviving are her beloved sons, Mike (Tami) Seymour of Niles, MI, Doug (Cathy) Seymour of La Porte, and Wayne (Becky) Seymour of La Porte; daughter-in-law, Patricia Seymour of La Porte; 9 grandchildren, John Seymour, Adam (Sarah) Seymour, Ryan Seymour, Amy (Ray) Wolfenbarger, Patrick (Alyssa) Seymour, Taya (Jim) Hardacre, Jillian Shelton, Julie (Justin) Bannwart and Sandra (Ronald McClain) Seymour; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Evelyn Lewis of New Carlisle, Lois Deutscher of Hobart, and Shirley Rameier of Mesa, AZ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded by her parents; husband; son, Philip Seymour; brothers, Myron and Dale Rameier; and grandson, John Patrick Shelton. Lois worked at Howmet for 27 years before she retired in 1992. She was a 20 year member of Scipio Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and held every office except secretary. Lois was also a member of Pleasant Township 4-H for 6 years. She enjoyed collecting antique dishes and commemorative plates, one from all 50 states. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Door Village Cemetery at a later date. A time of visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to La Porte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W.
