Leonard’s Obituary Leonard Murry Roy Jr., 87, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his residence. Leonard was born on November 1, 1931 in Port Acres to parents Evenly Myrtle (Bammert) and Leonard Murry Roy Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and he served his country in US Force during the Korean War. Leonard retired from Gulf State/Entergy after 40 years of service. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers, he was a master locksmith and he just liked tinkering around the house fixing what he could. Leonard was a loving man who will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, Betty and Bonnie and his wife in 2016, Doris Roy. Leonard is survived by his two daughters, Sherrel Chisholm and her husband, Willie of Groves, Peggy Sue Roy of Iowa, his three sons, Aubrey Roy and his wife, Liz of Sulphur, LA, Charlie Roy and his wife, Cyn of Bridge City and Teddy Roy of Port Arthur along with 20 grandchildren, 30 plus great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchild. A 7:00 PM Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until service time.
