Obituary of Lawrence F. Oster, Sr. Lawrence F. Oster, Sr., “Okie” age 95, of Delaware County, PA and Avalon, NJ, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at Granite Farms Estates of Media, PA. Larry was a graduate of Upper Darby High School. He was Co-Owner of Barger Construction, retiring in 2003. He was a US Army Veteran, serving during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge. Larry was a member of the American Legion #331, Stone Harbor, NJ, the Avalon Lions Club and the Avalon Yacht Club. Mr. Oster enjoyed volunteering for many Avalon benefits. He was a devoted father and grandfather and most of all cherished spending time with his family. Son of the late Simon A. and Olive (Martel) Oster; husband of the late Eleanor M. Oster; father of the late Lawrence F. Oster, Jr., grandfather of the late Joseph Williams; brother of the late Mary Jane Saling. Survivors: Son: Joseph (Amy) Oster Daughters: Susan (Chris) Oster and Eleanor Dale Grandchildren: Stephanie, Jennifer, Madison, Amanda and Joey Brother: Roy (Gerry) Oster Also survived by nieces and nephews Visitation: Wednesday, May 29th after 10:00AM at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063. Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 29th at 11:30AM at the funeral home. Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 support.woundedwarriorproject.org/ or to a Charity of your choice.
