Larry “Wayne” Humphries, of Sylvan Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. He served as pastor of New Life Worship Center, Sylvan Springs, for 28 years. He worked in various ministries; building churches, doing tent ministries, and many other outreach ministries for 43 years. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Elgin and Velma Humphries. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; Diane Humphries, two sons Chris Humphries (Michelle), Josh Humphries; two daughters Amy Reagan (Rob), Melissa Pierce (Michael) ; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM, at New Life Worship Center, 6395 Birmingport Road, Sylvan Springs, 35118.. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the Chruch, with Brother Bruce Smart officiating. Burial will follow at United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sylvan Springs. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
