Bennettsville Mrs. Karen Denise Driggers Byrd passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. She was 57 years old. Mrs. Byrd was born in Bennettsville on November 3, 1961 to the late James Red and Janette Lorraine Driggers. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was a cashier and clerk for several convenience stores and Walgreens. Mrs. Byrd enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family, and most importantly her grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory; husband, Mark Byrd of the home; son, Rider Byrd (Bree) of Bennettsville; daughters, Phyllis Aycock (Eric Pasalakis) of Nashville, TN., Sadina Burr (Buddy) of Bennettsville, and Ashley Cohoon of Wallace; grandchildren, Landon Cohoon, Lillie Cohoon, Marlee Shaw, Evie Hodge, Emma Faith Burr, and Molly Pasalakis; brother, Bobby Driggers of Bennettsville. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents listed above; son, Justin Byrd; grandson, Ashton Cohoon; sister, Phyllis Clay. A memorial service will be held 6 pm Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the Byrd residence, 1762 Hwy 9 West, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
