Joseph’s Obituary Joseph A. Davis, 77, of East Stroudsburg, died early Sunday morning, May 26, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem. Born on June 17, 1941 in Chester, he was a son of the late Vera (Roberts) and Alexander Davis and lived in Monroe County for most of his life. He was employed by East Stroudsburg University for almost 20 years before retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #513 in Stroudsburg. Surviving are daughters, Arita Tyson of Fountain Hill and Victoria Davis of Philadelphia; step daughter, Mary Harper(Michael) of East Stroudsburg; sister, Emily McIlwaine of Stroudsburg; sister-in-law, Cathy Davis of Florida; brothers, William Davis(Bonnie) of Stroudsburg and Rev. Lewis James Thomas(April) of Texas; grandchildren; Naji and Najiyah, great grandson; Aidan; good friends, Donna Davis, Sylvia Davis, Elwood Davidson & Kenny Strausser; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his special friend, Ludie Tyson; and two brothers, Tyrone Davis and Robert Davis. There will be a viewing from 3:00 to 5:00PM on Sunday, June 2, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The homegoing service will begin at 10:00AM Monday, June 3, at Reaching Out for Jesus Christian Center, 1890 US-209, Brodheadsville with Rev. Lewis James Thomas and Bishop Kenneth L. Pearman officiating. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery on Dreher Avenue in Stroudsburg.
