John Edward Cooper, 89, of Kent City, passed away on May 1, 2019 in Fremont, Michigan. He was born on April 25, 1930 to Charlie (Chick) and Amelia (Barnes) Cooper in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Sand Lake High School in 1948. John worked as a Grinder for Sparta Foundry. John is survived by his wife Betty, six daughters: Nancy Ann (Allen D.) Starr of Sand Lake, Deborah Jean (Patrick) Rouhan of Howard City, Virginia Kay (Bill) Hammer of Baldwin, Karen Sue (Timothy) McCarty of Kent City, Vivian Louise (Gary) Felde of Kent City, Tracy Lynn Cooper of Kent City, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cathy Jo Asmus, sister Leola June Smith, brother Russell Wayne Cooper. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Kent City American Legion Post.
