John Edward Chipps Sr November 13 1940 May 26 2019 (age 78)

John Edward Chipps Sr, 78 of Summit Park, passed away on Sunday May 26, 2019 at United Hospital Center. He was born November 13, 1940 in Stonewood, son of the late Virgil Glenn and Virginia Myrtle Oates Chipps. John served in the US Army Reserve and was a hardworking man as a truck driver for over thirty plus years and also had John’s Home Repair Service. In the past he had attended Jewel City Church and Summit Park Baptist Church and currently was attending The First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife Charleyne Turner Chipps whom he married January 13, 2011; one stepson, Travis Strader, Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jenkins Chipps; his son, John “John John” Edward Chipps, Jr; his granddaughter, Tasha Marie Chipps; four brothers, Gibson Lee “Gib” Barnard, Sr, Virgil Chipps, Bob Huffman and Paul Huffman; one sister, Glenna Chipps Butcher. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 3:00PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:00PM with Reverend Richard Settles presiding.
