John Donald Barber, age 57, of Knoxville, Iowa, formerly of Centerville, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Comfort House in Pella. John was born on February 6, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Donald and Marilyn (Blakey) Barber. John attended school in Centerville and graduated with the Class of 1979. John was united in marriage to Brenda Molle on May 5, 1990 in Knoxville, Iowa. They were blessed with 29 years of marriage. John was employed at Ver Meer for 16 years, then got his trucking license and drove a truck for 12 years. He was last employed at TPI in Newton. John enjoyed working on his truck, hunting, and liked to keep busy. He enjoyed being around his family and friends, and will be missed by them all. John’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Concord Cemetery in Appanoose County. A luncheon will follow at the Church of Christ in Centerville. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8, 2019 at the VFW in Knoxville at 1:00 P.M. Memorials may be given in John’s memory to his family.
