Joseph M. Guy (Joe), age 93, of Newnan passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by family. Joe was born March 21, 1926 in Waverly, AL to the late Hilary Jackson Guy and Minnie Maybelle Guy. Along with his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his 9 brothers, 3 sisters and his wife, Billie Ruth Guy Freeman. Joe served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. He was a master electrician and plumber and a member of Mills Chapel Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Brenda Gillespie (Bill) of Palm Bay, FL, Ron Guy (Connie) of Palm Bay, FL, Shirley Oliver (Larry) of Newnan, Bryant Guy (Debbie) of Newnan, Rhunae Bovingdon (Jim) of Newnan, Mike Guy (Nancy) of Newnan, Robin Matthews (Mark) of Newnan; 26 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, a very special friend Miss Olivia Griffin and a long list of nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service celebrating the life Joe lived is Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan with pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home.
