Jo’s Obituary Jo C. Pridgen, 81, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington. She was born in Pender County, NC on March 11, 1938, daughter of the late Willie Anderson and Adell Mathis Gurganious, and spent most of her life in Wilmington. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Edens (Danny); her son, Eric Robbins (Shirl); granddaughters, Rebecca Edens and Sarah Edens; grandson, William Robbins; sisters, Nancy Rogers and Brenda McAdams (Jerry); brother, Mike Gurganious (Linda); a dear friend, Bob Lloyd; thirteen nephews, five nieces, eight great-nephews, seven great-nieces, ten great-great-nephews, and six great-great-nieces. Jo loved to work in her garden and yard. She was a member of Wilmington Singles where she enjoyed dancing, and was an active member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Monday, May 20, 2019, at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, 5524 Myrtle Grove Road, Wilmington, NC, 28401. The service will begin at 11:00 am Monday at the church with the Rev. Paul Waters officiating. Special thanks are offered to the doctors and nurses at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and the caretakers at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
