Jerry’s Obituary Jerry Lee Ponder, a resident of Walker, LA, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Covington, LA. He was born September 18, 1942 in Mt. Olive, MS and was 76 years of age. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Gail Allen and her husband, Bobby, Wanda Stewart and husband, Robby, and Joy Windham; 2 step-children, Karen Duplessis and husband, Gary, and Kenny Vicknair; grandchildren, Valerie Allen, April Patrick and husband, Joe, Dusty Allen, Chad Stewart and wife, Margie, Eric Windham and wife, Abby, Cameron Windham and wife, Carlie; 2 step-grandchildren, Lakin Duplessis and Peyton Duplessis; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Edwina Gentry and Barbara Simoneau; 2 brothers, Sam Ponder and David Ponder; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, J. W. and Eva Mae Sanford Ponder; wife, Diane Ponder; 2 sisters, Velma Hosey and Louise Ponder; 2 brothers, Billy Wayne Ponder and Thomas Earl Ponder. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Services conducted by Bro. Ray McDonald. Interment Salem Cemetery, Walker, LA.
