GENEVA – Jennifer Marie Puma, 49, formerly of Oak Island, NC who returned to Geneva in April of 2016, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. She will be interred in Sandhill Cemetery and one day her parents will be with her again (3 Amigo’s). Contributions, in her memory, may be made to Happiness House in Geneva, Hospice Wound Care, or to Alzheimer’s Research. Jennifer was born on February 21, 1969 with Downs. She started attending school at age three at the Original Happiness House in Geneva. In her later years with the BOCES programs at age of 16, Jennifer and her parents moved to Oak Island, NC where she started school at Brunswick Interagency. At 21 years old, she started training at Brunswick Community College as a sandwich maker and she did this for 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, singing, playing cards, country music, and going to the ocean. She will be missed by family and so many friends from all over. She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Claudia Thorpe Puma; her brother, Joseph (Nellie Lynch) Puma; and her nephews, Joseph and Sam Puma. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Claude (Winnie Strayer) Thorpe and paternal grandparents, Joseph (Angeline Capizzi) Puma.
