Jeffery Shayne Pringle March 08 1966 May 22 2019

Jeffery’s Obituary On May 22, 2019, Jeffery Pringle, devoted husband and loving father, passed away at age 53, after a 2 year battle with glioblastoma. Visitation will be held at Groesbeck Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Word of Life Family Worship Center (193 LCR 412, Groesbeck), with Pastor Randy Ayres officiating. Burial will follow in Mustang Cemetery. Jeff was born in Marlin, Texas in March of 1966 to Wayne and Juanita Pringle. He grew up in Groesbeck with brothers, Marty, Steve, Shannon and Jason. Jeff graduated from Groesbeck High School with the Class of 1984, and he received his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Mountain State University in 2006. In 1987, Jeff began his career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he climbed through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major in less than 10 years. He retired as Senior Warden of the Hutchins State Jail in 2016 after completing 28 years of service. Jeff married his wife, Jill, in December of 1993, and they celebrated 25 wonderful years together. He has four children: Jaden, Gavin, Garrett, and Brent. He also has two grandchildren, Noah and Avery. After his retirement, the family moved from Waxahachie to Richland Chambers Lake, where he anticipated spending a lot of time on the water and fishing. He did get to enjoy fishing, home projects, rocking on the porch, and playing with the grandchildren. Jeff enjoyed going to high school football games, even if he didn’t know anyone on the team, and continued to cherish his Groesbeck days, with the game he attended with his son last fall bringing tears to his eyes. He was a very big Dallas Cowboys fan. Jeff attended Word of Life Family Worship Center in Groesbeck. Jeff’s mission in life was always to serve the Lord and to give his all to his family, and he accomplished that mission every single day. Jeff was best recognized for his servant leadership. You would always hear him saying “God is good…all the time!” You’d often find him listening to praise and worship music, including his favorite song “Healing is Here.” He had many titles throughout his life, but his favorite was to be called Poppy by his grandchildren. Faith and family were everything to him. The faith he instilled in his family will help them through their lives as they carry him with them in their hearts and memory, and try to live by his words of wisdom to “Never let anything steal your joy.” Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brothers, Marty Pringle, Shannon Pringle and Randy Pringle. He is survived by his wife, Jill Pringle of Corsicana; daughter and son-in-law, Jaden and Mark Frazier of Fairfield; son, Gavin Pringle of Corsicana; son, Garrett Pringle of Corsicana; son Brent Pringle of Oklahoma; grandson Noah Frazier, of Fairfield, -who at 3 years old was the light of his Poppy’s life; granddaughter, Avery Pringle of Hallettsville, age 7- who was always in his heart even though the distance may have kept them apart; Wayne and Juanita Pringle of Kosse; brother, Steven Pringle of Kosse; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Crala Pringle of Groesbeck; and many nieces and nephews.
