Johnston Jean H. Murphy, 92, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Cedar Crest Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry R. Murphy. Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late Brayton and Blanche (Harris) Collingham. Jean loved spending time with family as well as her crosswords, gardening, taking pictures, and enjoyed all the kids she was “nan” to, even though they weren’t her own. She loved each and every one of them. She leaves three daughters, Roslyn Kleffman, Melanie Murphy and Cynthia M. Davignon; two sons, Richard Murphy, Tod Murphy and the late Terry Murphy; nine grandchildren, Aaron Kleffman, Cia Cook, Gary Dinnage, Christina Dinnage, Brad Townsend, Derek Davignon, Dylan Murphy, Laura Murphy and Cornelius Murphy; and five great-grandchildren, Roderick, Nina, Molly, Cooper and Cy. She was the loving sister of the late Dorothy Butler. The visiting hours and funeral service will be held Tuesday evening, May 28, 2019, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt 117), Warwick. Visiting hours will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 pm. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Burial will be private.
