James Ronald Ron Wood March 4 1942 May 26 2019 (age 77)

James Ronald “Ron” Wood, age 77, of Clarkesville passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Hillside Memorial Chapel, with Cecil Highfield and Linwood Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Born March 4, 1942, Mr. Wood was the son of James Theo and Jessie Samples Wood. He was preceded in death by sister Kay Wood Copeland. Mr. Wood was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Bay of Pigs, and he retired from General Motors. Mr. Wood was also a farmer. In addition to his wife, Joyce Bash Wood of Clarkesville, Mr. Wood is survived by daughter Lesa Lee (Ed) of Atlanta, son Ronnie Wood (Teresa) of Statham, Ga., sister Joyce Wood Dees of Dothan, Al., granddaughters Ansleigh Garrett (Wes) and Katie Stallings (Nick) and great granddaughter Lana Stallings.
