James R Moore October 16 1949 May 26 2019 (age 69)

James R. “Rick” Moore, a loving husband to Elena Moore for 39 years, passed away suddenly at age 69 on May 26, 2019. Rick was born in Pensacola, FL and raised in Nicholasville, KY. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, craftsman, and farmer. He was outwardly prideful of his family and made it a point to spend time frequently with those he loved. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tilford and Mary Carter, and his parents, Richard and Georgia Carter Moore. He is survived by his brother, Barry Moore, his children, Amber Moore Dailey and Micah Moore whose spouses are Mark Dailey and Jennifer Moore, respectively. He also had four grandsons, Alan, Rhett, Garrett and Gavin, and one great grandson, Jackson. Rick was a Vietnam War veteran who served four years in the US Navy. He received silver medals in the Bluegrass Games and was given top honors for marksmanship. In his “antique” years, as he would say, you would see him smiling on a tractor, seriously maneuvering equipment, or waving with messy hair from a motorcycle ride. During his most private times, he would sit with his wife Elena, her head on his shoulder, overlooking the beauty of their farm. He was a happy, sincere, accomplished man, a true craftsman, and meticulous artisan. He reminded his children regularly that a simple, hard working and honest life is the most joyous. Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to be chosen to provide cremation for Rick and care for his family The story of Rick’s life was lovingly submitted by the family.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of James R Moore October 16 1949 May 26 2019 (age 69).
