James was born in Houston Texas and raised in Merced to the union of James H. Sr. and Algie Estell Lee. He was one of nine childrenborn to the Lee family. He attended Galen Clark ,Tenaya,Merced High and Merced College where he participated in basketballwhile completing his requirement to receive his degree.James worked a variety of jobs including working for the City of Merced as a Collection II until retiring in 2009 with 32 years of services. James was a devoted husband, father,brother,grandfather and friend that was well known and respected that love to barbecue. Preceding him in death his parents,aunts,nephew and stepdaughter. The memories of james will be carried on by his loving wife Loistine Lee,sons: James Henry Lee III (Marta) Adam Henry Lee,stepson: Olee Thrower Jr, grandchildren: Jada,James Henry IV,Olee Aron and Christian. Sibling: brothers Arthur Charles Lee (Joann), Earstee Alexander Lee (Cheryl),Thomas Winzer (Lori) Sisters: Alice Faye Lee,Bobby Brown,Annette Lee, Dolores Anderson (Hector) and Linda Matthews. Uncle: Earstee Estell and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and friends. Celebration of life will be held between 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. on Sunday May 19, 2019 at American Legion Post 83 located at 939 W. Main Street Merced,California.
