Mr. JB Twitty, 91, of Kershaw passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home. He was born April 6, 1928 in Westville, a son of the late Georgie Twitty and Eliza Langley Twitty. Mr. Twitty is twice widowed by Millie H. Twitty and Mary Margaret S. Twitty. He was a lifelong member of Center Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Twitty served our country in the U.S. Air Force for six years. A portion of his service occurred during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Twitty was a member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion. His passion was gardening and woodworking. He was very active in his community and enjoyed sharing the bounty of his garden with his neighbors. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Twitty will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Jenkins and Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mr. Twitty is survived by four daughters, Sandra T. Whipple and her husband Kurt of San Antonio, FL, Sheila T. Figueiredo and her husband Roberto of Dade City, FL, Kimberly Hendrix and her husband Mitchell of Heath Springs and Karla T. Pieters and her husband John of Crestline, CA; a sister, Shirley Sims of Great Falls; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Twitty and Sharon T. McConnell; and a sister, Mary Twitty. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Center Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home of JB, 7533 Kershaw Camden Hwy., Kershaw.
