James’ Obituary James B. Adams, husband of Marcella Adams, passed away on May 15, 2019. He was born on September 5, 1962 in Holly Springs, Mississippi to John and Becky Adams. James and his siblings grew up in Coldwater, Mississippi. He would go on to briefly attend Alcorn State University and later joined the United States Navy in May 1983. While stationed in Staten Island, New York, James met Marcella Alford in September 1990 and they married in April 1993. In 1996, James moved with his family to Cleveland, OH where he went to work for the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs in the Environmental Management Services Department. In his spare time, James loved to fish, play rugby, hunt, and listen to Rock n’ Roll with his beloved companion Lucky as well as visit his favorite Mom and Pop restaurants around Cleveland with his wife. He was affectionately called Poppy by his wife and children. James is survived by his wife, his children, James B. Adams Jr. and Marcella L. Adams; brother and sisters John and Felicia Adams and Phyllis Holmes; in-laws Jeffery Alford, Wanda Alford, and Ernest Alford; nieces and nephews Sade Adams, Paul and Phillip Holmes, Charvella Wilson, Demetra Lipsey, and Jason Smith; and a host of great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Family and friends are welcome for a memorial service on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 3:00pm at SLONE & CO.
