Obituary James A. Meeks, age 86, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Jean Meeks; parents, James R. and Lucille Meeks; sisters, Rose Meeks and Martha Pilcher and brother, Kenneth Meeks. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Mitchell and Marjorie and Curtis Wheat, all of Dalton; step-son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Julie Pilcher of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Marissa Rogers, Zach Mitchell, Carson and Carmen Wheat and Nathan Pilcher; four great grandchildren, Waylon, Daniel, Juan and Julio; nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wood officiating.
