JAMES A. BUCK James Allen Buck, age 92, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was born on May 3, 1927 in Gallitzin, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, one of fifteen children of John and Lucy (Litzinger) Buck. Jim was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War; he retired from US Steel’s Irvin Works in West Mifflin and had worked for the West Mifflin Volunteer Fire Company # 3. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Lois Rose “Dodi” (Hilliard) Buck in 2015 and twelve of his siblings. He is survived by two children, daughter, Laura Marie Yasko and son, Joseph Alan Buck; four grandchildren, Shannon Rose Yasko, Lindsey Rae Yasko, Cheyenne Brandy Buck and Hayden Michael James Buck and two brothers, Donald Buck of West Mifflin and Gerald Buck of Altoona, Pennsylvania. Jim loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 1 – 3 pm and 6 – 8 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350). There will be a prayer in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 9 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in West Mifflin at 10 am. Jim’s burial will take place in the Lebanon Church Cemetery (next to the church) in West Mifflin. His family suggests donations in his name to Alzheimer’s or Dementia research.
