Newark ~ Jack Daugherty Kennan, 70, went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Decatur. Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Jack was born on February 8, 1949 to Carl Walter and Betty Helen (Dickenson) Kennan in Springdale, Arkansas. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Sue Bentley in 1974 in Arkansas. Jack a retired truck driver for TXI, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Jason Kennan. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Sue Kennan of Newark; his sons, Michael Kennan of Newark, and L. J. Kennan of Newark; his daughters, Helen Kennan of Newark, and Summer Olalde and husband Adrian of Justin; his grandchildren, Richard, Axel, Erica, April, Jack, Karl, Katie, Ayden, Ava, Kylie, Hannah, and Nova Dawn; his great-grandchildren, Raylynn, and Layla; his brothers, Tom Kennan, Sr. of Paradise, Ed Kennan of Tuttle, Arkansas, and Larry Kennan of Elkins; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
