Henry Grady Joy, Jr., 72, of Latta, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Mr. Joy was born a son of the late Dorothy Ellis Moore and Henry Grady Joy, Sr. He was a veteran of the US Marines having served in Vietnam. He was a hardworking construction worker and loved NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Marcus Brady Joy, Sr. and sister, Ela Pearson. Mr. Joy is survived by his wife, Tammy Clark Joy; sons, Hank Joy (Brandi) of Stinnett, TX and Travis Brantley (Lea) of Scranton, SC; daughters, Samantha Childers (James) of Cowpens, SC, Sandy Joy (fiancé Mark) of Spartanburg, SC and Crystal Hill of Florence; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and brothers, James “Jimmy” Owens (Judy) and Wallace Owens (Evelyn), both of Gaffney, SC, and Franklin Owens (Teresa) of Duncan, SC and Douglas Joy (Joann) of Blacksburg, SC. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2019, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery.
